Meet my Spring 2012 students

These are the six students in my MA level comparative philosophy class, called "Self and Identity in China and the West" (中西比較哲學的自我觀).  They have helped me design a social survey instrument that is now going out to 600 students on the Chengkung University campus!

This guy goes by the name "Tuna Sandwich" (鮪魚三明治).   But his real name is Wang Weilin (王瑋鄰).  He is a first-year MA student from 中興大學 where he majored in Chinese.  His hometown is Jilong (基隆).

This is a brilliant guy named Wang Boyuan (王博元).  He is also a first-year MA student from 台灣師範大學 where he majored in History.  He is from Pingdong (屏東)

This girl is a graduate of Taiwan University (台灣大學), also a History major, and also a first-year MA student.  Her name is Lei Jinyi (雷晉怡), but she goes by "A Certain Little Lei" (某小雷).  She is the only student in the class who is from Tainan.  Her English is good!

And this girl is a graduate of Cheng Kung University, but she is from Taipei.  Her name is Zhou Yangyu (周央育).  She removed her glasses for this photo!  She is almost 6' (180 cm) tall!

This student is from Israel!  Her name is Hadar, and her Chinese name is Ni Haide (倪海德).  She has been in Taiwan for a couple of years and just entered the Ph.D. program.  She majored in East Asian Studies at the University of Haifa.

Finally, this young guy is a senior in college, working on his BA in history, and his surname is Guo (郭) but I still have to learn his given names!

It's a friendly, hard-working group, and we are going to have a great semester!
